Everything You Need To Know Before Your First Float

First Timer Steps..

  1. Please be on time! Arrive 15-20 minutes before your scheduled float. This will give us time to show you around, answer any questions, and have you fill out boring paperwork. All float are started promptly on the hour.
  2. You’ll shower before and after your float.  Your room has a private dressing area, shower, towels, earplugs, vaseline, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion.  Bring a hair brush and a contact case/solution if you need to. No need to bring a swimsuit as it detracts from the effects of reducing sensory stimulation. We have mirrors, q-tips, deodorant, blow dryers, and ear drops if needed for after your float.  If you prefer to bring your own towel or shower products that’s perfectly fine.
  3. Don’t shave or wax before the same day – the salt water solution may irritate fresh skin.  Eat a small meal about an hour before – it will be easier for your body to rest if you aren’t too full or really hungry.  Don’t drink caffeine or energy drinks several hours before – caffeine is a stimulant and will take away from the experience. Make sure you’re hydrated.

Unlike the salt in the ocean, the float tank solution (33% Epsom salt) actually hydrates your skin and hair.
There is 1,100 lbs of Magnesium Sulfate (Epsom salt) dissolved in each of our float rooms. The solution is so high in saline that no living microorganism can survive in there. UV is the safest most effective system available. In addition all clients shower before getting in.
